Through a process of elimination and examination and the range of spaces available to us we were able to highlight the good and bad qualities of the various spaces. This has in turn helped dictate the kind of audience our work would be for and centered around. This gives us a stable basis unto which we can begin to really narrow down a concept and its intention.

Initial idea was to use the foyer space of level 11 and target people that have come to the showcase. The X's represent potential positions where whatever we make could be.

The other idea was to use the level 3/4 space and treat it as more of a way finding to the awards. Looking at the access points on the floor we considered these to really direct the audience to the showcase.

This space is the space that we all mingle in before the awards and have a bite to eat and a drink. From memory we are here for around half an hour and having a centre piece that is less advertising for the public but more something that people can stand around and act as a celebration of us. First drawing was from memory, second one was after we went down and looked at the space. Keeping the flow of movement in mind, the circle on the second image shows the best location for a standalone, 3D artefact that has access to power (X's). This is really useful as it helps define the audience and the space so the concept can then be developed with the limitations in mind.
